It is amazing to think that we are ALREADY one month into our school year!  Goodbye September....Hello October!

In saying that, as the weather continues to get colder, be sure that you are dressed appropriately - jacket, mitts, touque, etc.

Some important information was shared today in our MC Knoll announcements, including:
- Picture Day is coming!  Pictures for KB will be on Wednesday, October 14.  Pictures for KA and Grades 1 - 8 will be on Thursday, October 15.  After Picture Day, order pictures on mylifetouch.ca using your Portrait ID and Access Code which can be found on your Picture Day order form.

Great job to everyone on a WONDERFUL "full-week" of school.  I know we will enjoy many more great weeks ahead...!

As the weather is becoming more unpredictable, families may now send a pair of indoor shoes with students. Students have done a great job moving in quickly from the outdoors and will need to continue to do this but can now access the boot racks.  

For those students who have been absent for parts of this week, I have uploaded some Math assignments to the Google Classroom.  Try your best to accomplish these items before Monday.

Classroom News - Sept. 17

Our MC Knoll playground was quite wet and muddy today.  As a result, our shoes (and clothes) were "extra" dirty.  Our school is in the process of coming up with a plan to eliminate unnecessary dirt throughout our schools during wet/snowy/muddy days.  In the meantime, try to keep your outdoor/indoor shoes clean each day.

Please read through the "Student Contact Information" sheet (sent home yesterday) and update any information that is required.  If possible, return the form by Friday, Sept. 18.

- A message from the GSSD: 

GSSD is promoting the use of EDSBY for all schools. This new platform will allow us to communicate with families from the office, from individual teachers, keep an updated parent calendar, etc. It will also mean that there is one platform across the division. As with all large tech. roll-outs, we need some time to make sure it is working properly for families. We should be able to access EDSBY in October and will make sure we send updates in advance to help our families get signed- up. Thank you for your patience and, in the meantime, feel free to email your child’s teacher, text or call the school phone, or call the office.

I think I speak for most people when I say...it is sure WONDERFUL to be back!  I hope everyone has been keeping safe and had a great summer - full of friends, family, and FUN!

Despite the changes and the new routines, I am excited for another wonderful school year - my 13th here at MC Knoll!

We will see our A-K students tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 10) and our L-Z students Friday, Sept. 11.  Our entire 5/6ME class will be together for the first time on Monday, Sept. 14.
