Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - Oct. 24

Ask your son/daughter about today's motivation speaker - aspiring hip-hop artist Shaun Boothe!

A permission form was sent home last week for the Tuesday, Oct. 31 "Gr. 5-8 Swimming Pool Carnival".  Please sign and return the form by tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 25).

Homework:
Social 6 - Hemisphere Practice (OVERDUE)
Math 5 - 3.4 Estimating Products (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
Math 6 - N6.2 Factors/Multiples Unit TEST (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
Social 5 - Province Research Poster Presentation (Friday, Nov. 3)

Reminders:
- Our 5/6ME class will be carving pumpkins on Thursday, Oct. 26 (pumpkins for the "Yorkton Pumpkin Walk.  Please bring appropriate carving tools for this FUN event.  Pumpkins will be provided, but students are still welcome to bring their own (which they can take home).
- The Pizza Hut hot lunch is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27.  YUMMY!
- Friday, Oct. 27 is also an "MC Knoll Spirit Day".  Wear your new MC Knoll clothing or MC Knoll school colors!
- There is an MC Knoll Halloween Dance on Friday, Oct. 27 from 7:00-9:30.  Come dressed in your best Halloween costume and dance the night away!
