Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - Oct. 19

Happy Monday!

 This week is Education Week in the GSSD!  As part of the celebration, MC Knoll will be hosting a "mug and muffin" on Friday, Oct. 23 around 8:00 a.m.

The MC Knoll Choir group is looking for members to sing at the MC Knoll Remembrance Day Service.  Sign-up end tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 20).

Homework:
LA - Reading Group Assignment #1 (Tuesday, Oct. 20)
Math - 3.6/3.7 Division of Decimals (Tuesday, Oct. 20)
Art - Caricatures (Thursday, Oct. 22)
Math - Decimals Unit Test (Friday, Oct. 23)


Reminders:
- If you are interested in volunteering at our MC Knoll school (S.C.C member, swish program, etc.), please read and return the School Community Council newsletter ASAP.
- As part of the FCC Drive Away Hunger program, students are encouraged to either bring non-perishable food items to school or fill-up the brown paper bag with non-perishable food items to donate to families in need.  We will be collecting items until Wednesday, Oct. 21.
- If interested in ordering school picture, please return the order form and appropriate money by Monday, Oct. 26.  If you are unhappy with the pictures, picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27.
