Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - May 31

The annual “Walk and Roll” is tomorrow (Wednesday, June 1).  We are encouraging all students and staff to choose an active way of coming to school that day (walk, run, ride a bike, skateboard, rollerblade, etc.).  We will be giving away a bike at the end of the school day - with one lucky name being pulled from the draw box.  Our MC Knoll School community will be meeting at Canadian Tire at 8:15 a.m....for anyone interested in walking and rolling as a group.

There will be another optional Track and Field Meet for students in Grades 6 to 8 next Thursday, June 9th.  Our Knights will be joining 5 other schools - Dr. Brass, Columbia, Yorkdale, Springside, Saltcoats - over at the YRHS Century Field.  Students received the information letter today; please pick your events and return it by Thursday, June 2.

The June Adventure Ed. permission form was sent home yesterday.  Please sign and return it by Friday, June 3.  YAHOO!

Reminders:
- I have reminded students to please bring a "geometry set" ASAP - as we will be needing this item for many of our upcoming math topics.  Thanks in advance!  
- For Phys. Ed., our 7M class will be learning all about the sport of baseball (underhand soft toss) in the coming weeks.  Students are encouraged to bring a ball glove from home.
