Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - Jan. 21

It is that time of the year again - Yearbook Orders!  Some information was sent home yesterday.  If interested in ordering, please return the "Yearbook Order From" and appropriate fees by Friday, Feb. 5.  Payments can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.

In addition, another round of Scholastic Book Orders were sent home yesterday.  If interested in ordering, order through the following website: scholastic.ca/clubshop.  Our 5/6ME classroom code is: RC178758.

Math 5 - Fraction/Decimals Relationship TEST (Friday, Jan. 22)
Math 6 - Fractions TEST (Friday, Jan. 22)
Social 6 - Historical Issues Assignment (Friday, Jan. 22)
Science 5 - States of Matter "Trifold" (Monday, Jan. 25)
Science 6 - Planet's Diameter vs Mass (Monday, Jan. 25)

Reminders:
- There will be a Hat Day on Thursday, January 28th. Students can pay $2 to wear a hat. All proceeds will go toward our playground fundraiser. Any donation amount over $2 will be accepted for this great cause!
- There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, Jan. 29 and Monday, February 1 - due to "Teacher PD".  YAHOO!
