Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - Nov. 20

Happy "belated" Halloween!  Ask your son/daughter about today's celebration - art/craft, snacks, some Disney shows, and a couple of Kahoot games!

The Term 1 Report Cards were sent home today!  I encourage some reflective conversation about the previous few months, as well as goal-setting conversations for the months ahead!

Homework:
Science 5 - Our Bones Activity (OVERDUE)
Math 5 - 3.8 Division (by Repeated Subtraction) (Monday, Nov. 23)
Math 6 - Adding/Subtracting Decimals (Monday, Nov. 23)
Art - Design a Yearbook Cover (optional) (Monday, Nov. 23)

Reminders:
- If interested in purchasing some very stylish MC Knoll clothing from the SCC School Clothing Fundraiser, payment/forms are due by Monday November 23rd.  
- The Term 1 "parent-teacher-student conferences" are set for next Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Thursday, Nov. 26.  Conferences will take place using ZOOM.  Phone calls can also be made if families are unable to access ZOOM.  If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the school ASAP.
- Our second picture retake day has been scheduled for Thursday, November 26. Any students wanting a picture retake can do so on this day.
- Just a reminder that our Virtual Book Fair is happening until November 29 (https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5150975)
