WELCOME!!!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

For your convenience, you can also sign-up to receive "daily updates" from this blog that automatically gets sent to your email every day there is a new posting. Simply type in your email address into the 'submit' box found on the right side of this blog.

More importantly, if you ever have any questions or concerns about your son/ daughter, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone, email, or this blog:

Classroom News - April 18

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone is well rested after the AWESOME Survivor event (and long-weekend)!

To save the hassle of "weekly" signatures, I am now hoping to send home "monthly" Adventure Ed. permission forms.  For the remainder of April, students will have an opportunity to participate in billiards and darts.  Please sign and return the April Adventure Ed. form by Wednesday, April 20.

Also, the WE ACT CLUB will be holding a "spare change" fundraiser for a clean water project in Haiti.  Bring some spare change from home to help support this global activity!

Homework:

ELA - Placement Reader Response #6 (Tuesday, April 19)
Math - Geometry Definitions (Tuesday, April 19)
Science - Natural Disaster Timeline (Tuesday, April 26)
ELA - Writing Folder (CSI and Poetry) (Monday, May 9)

Reminders:

- Our MC Knoll basketball teams have teamed up with our community Soup Haven.  In particular, they are looking for donated items that can be used in Soup Haven lunches.  Donated items (all of which must be "peanut-free") include granola bars, breakfast bars, crackers, cereals, fruit cups, Fruit-To-Go bars, pudding, canned meat, juice boxes, etc.

* The following people have OVERDUE work:

- Mr. Nobody
