Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

Classroom News - Dec. 8

We have A LOT of things going on this time of the year - activities and homework included.  Please do your best to "stay on top" of everything!

 Students have two creative opportunities this week:
- design a cover for the yearbook (due Friday, Dec. 11)
- design a "holiday art piece" (due Monday, Dec. 14)

 Gr. 7 students will be attending a presentation about "violence against women" and "anti-bullying" at Dr. Brass tomorrow (Wednesday, Dec. 9).

Reminders:
- Please return the Term 1 Report Card envelopes (JC)!
- The annual MC Knoll Christmas concert is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10.  There will be a show around 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Come on out and enjoy some great Christmas song!
- Gr. 7 students will be attending the "Grand Slam of Curling" on Friday, Dec. 11 (as part of Adventure Ed.).  Students will need to pack a lunch as we will be enjoying the curling action from around 11:00 - 1:30.  AWESOME!
- Next Monday, Dec. 14 is the "Buy Nothing Day" (as part of the WE Club).
- Next Tuesday, Dec. 15 is "Giving Day" (again, as part of WE Club).
