WELCOME!!!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Mr. McDowell's classroom blog. I am very excited to have a classroom webpage and I hope that you will find it useful. The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient (and reliable) communication link between students, parents, the school and Mr. McDowell. I invite you to check this blog on a daily basis as I will be posting valuable information about the classroom and the school - including daily homework assignments, important dates, classroom/school news, etc.

For your convenience, you can also sign-up to receive "daily updates" from this blog that automatically gets sent to your email every day there is a new posting. Simply type in your email address into the 'submit' box found on the right side of this blog.

More importantly, if you ever have any questions or concerns about your son/ daughter, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone, email, or this blog:

Classroom News - Oct. 15

Ask your son/daughter about today's motivational presentation at the YRHS...

Tomorrow is another exciting day!  In the a.m. (9:30ish), students will be attending an arts performance by Faustwork.  In the p.m. (from 12:45-3:15), students will be heading to the Western Development Museum to participate in the "Better Science" program.  YAHOO!

School picture orders did not go home yesterday (totally forgot to send them out!?!?!), but instead, were sent home today.  If you are interested in ordering, please return the order form and appropriate money by Monday, Oct. 26.  If you are unhappy with the pictures, picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Lastly, if you are interested in volunteering at our MC Knoll school (S.C.C member, swish program, etc.), please read and return the School Community Council newsletter that was sent home today.

Homework:
Math - Dividing Decimals Practice (Friday, Oct. 16)
Art - Caricatures (Thursday, Oct. 22)

Reminders:

- As part of the FCC Drive Away Hunger program, students are encouraged to either bring non-perishable food items to school or fill-up the brown paper bag (that was sent home yesterday) with non-perishable food items to donate to families in need.  We will be collecting items until Wednesday, Oct. 21.
