Classroom News - Oct. 20

Happy Monday,

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend. In class today we accomplished a number of things. First off, students learned the difference between absolute and relative location in Social Studies. They also learned what a simile and metaphor are in Language Arts. Lastly, Grade 7 started their (short) new unit in math - Relationship between Decimals and Fractions.

Ask your son/daughter about Rod MacIntyre - a speaker that the students had an opportunity to listen to today...

For Homework:
Language Arts - Island of the Blue Dolphins map assignment + read Chapters 5-8 (due Tuesday, Oct. 21)
Spelling 6 - Lesson #6 Lesson and Test (due Friday, Oct. 24)
Spelling 7 - Lesson #7 (due Monday, Oct. 27)
